Set into a hillside, visitors gaze from the visitor's platform into new animal habitats combining trees, rocks, a water feature, African grasses, as well as views to the adjacent Pacific Ocean. Strategically located pride rocks provide opportunities for both close encounters and longer-range views of these majestic animals. Holding and animal care areas located under the visitor deck provide state-of-the art keeper facilities. Dramatic enclosure mesh and support masts are organized to minimize the perception of the enclosure and add to the lively and fun exhibit environment.
